Immigration advice for asylum seekers and refugees

We provide OISC accredited level 1 immigration advice and support. This includes applications for entry clearance, Leave to Enter and Leave to Remain. We also provide advice on basic applications that are within the Immigration Rules to include the following categories:

• visitors • spouses/unmarried partners under the five-year route • fiancé(e)s • other dependent relatives • Settled and Pre-settled Status application • Points Based Immigration System applications • Other work visas permitted under the rules (for example – UK Ancestry Visa or Frontier Worker Permit) • Applications covering extensions of stay and settlement under Appendix ECAA, formerly covered by the European Communities Association Agreement (ECAA). • Diplomats, their family members and domestic staff • BN(O) Status Holder, Administrative review, varying conditions of leave, Nationality and citizenship under UK law.

Community Navigator (support for New Arrivals)

The Community Navigator offers settlement support to BAME communities living in the Rotherham area.

Roma Drop-in

An advice and signposting service for the local Roma community. Sessions are available on an appointment basis. Support is provided on a wide range of issues including benefits, debt and accessing services. Our advisers speak a variety of community languages.

Volunteering

We understand just how important volunteering is, not only for society as a whole but also for the individuals who decide to get involved. Volunteering provides people with an opportunity to contribute to good causes and also to develop personally. It can provide a pathway into work or new experiences to help open other avenues in life. Volunteering from amongst the BME community is also a great tool to combat divisive narratives about Minority communities.

REMA supports a range of community activities and organisations with volunteers.   Our work includes:

• Engagement and promotion of volunteering opportunities
• Development of volunteers (Training and Peer support)
• Policy development and advice for local BME groups
• Volunteer coordination and management to support civic events
